If the Pluto in Leo group continue to stay more focused on personal goals (we have been called the “me” generation) and are less interested in parenting our country, I foresee a gradual shift from minding other people’s business to tending to our own. We are more likely to belong to a gym than a homemaker’s club like my mother did for over 40+ years and less likely to attend a particular church or synagogue. There a lot of us who wouldn’t dream of tithing 10% of our income either! If for no other reason than we aren’t able to afford it.
I receive forwarded emails from older relatives about keeping “under god” in the pledge of allegiance, two words added in 1954 during Eisenhower’s presidency when the Pluto in Cancers were in their prime. I delete them because this is a non-issue to me.
Nuclear family was very important to those with Pluto in Cancer and they promoted the idea immediate family came first for years. Now we Boomers need to step up and take the lead in promoting the Aquarius ideal of all being part of one human family and citizens of the world rather than belonging to one nation only. The internet is a perfect vehicle to facilitate this and soooo Aquarian!
Is it possible we can reclaim some of visions we had in the sixties and seventies of communal living and choosing our families from those who share our ideals and values? I’m looking forward to see what evolves as more Boomers move past their Uranus square Uranus cycle point and turn inward rather than outward. Fewer giant RVs on the road and more experiments in creative ways to share expenses may be seen. Whatever happens I do not believe we Boomers will be living out the remainder of our lives as our parents did.

Only sign of Spring on the way is the hills are greening up. This was taken at sunset with a storm moving away from us.

That explains much of the nostalgia. Is this idea all the more so because of the Cancer stellium in the US chart that jm often refers to?

It sure fits. The Sibley chart has Sun, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter in Cancer and boy, does that sound like mom and apple pie to me!
Pluto was in Cancer from roughly 1913 to 1939. Here's a bit on this placement from Bob Marks:
Pluto in Cancer: made a generation that was obsessed with home and homeland. These folks were born between 1914 and 1939. When they grew up, the suburbs in this country exploded. Everybody HAD to have their own home. Around the world, most of the colonies became independent. Home and homeland.
I think the entire mess will be cleaned up by us Pluto/Uranus in Virgo people born in the '60s -- diligently sweeping with the help of Pluto in Capricorn up after the Leo party has come to an end.

Yeah, you are probably right. Virgos have been doing that for Leos forever. :-)
You may have fewer to clean up after though because fewer of the Boomers will be able to afford the ridiculously expensive medications currently used by the over seventy set, and will have to settle for palliative care while they die. [I'm a little cynical . . . lots of Scorpio here]
Neith, thanks for admitting your cynicism in your prior comment - great post btw and i agree with your insights on the boomer generation (i like to call us the 'flower power generation' because of a fondness for flowers.)
Keep it up! Jude

Thank you very much, Jude! Coming from you that's quite a compliment.
Speaking of palliative care, this was the story on Sixty Minutes:
