Full Moon in Cancer and Balance

I went around reading various posts on this Full Moon in Cancer, starting with Jeffrey Kishner’s Lunar Tunes and going to Moon Circles to read what those ladies had to say. Because this Full Moon features a Jupiter/Sun/Mercury conjunction in Capricorn with Pluto in Sagittarius on the side, all trine to Saturn in Virgo and more importantly opposed by a tight Moon/Mars Rx conjunction in Cancer, don’t be surprised if this one makes for an interesting Holiday season. The balance between nourishment and achievement is highlighted by the Cancer/Capricorn axis, or to put it another way, all the stuff you need to get done for your holiday celebrations is pulling you away from the year end tasks on the job and vice versa!

Full Moons are always about finding balance between different aspects on our lives and in a way they demonstrate what us Libra types deal with every day. What Libra seeks is to find ways to accommodate and balance. Most of us live perpetually in a state of imbalance and being Libra, it bugs the hell out of us! We’re constantly running from one side to the other, always afraid this time we’ll fly off the end of the teeter totter and crash.

The Cancer/Capricorn axis is currently my challenge because I’m working from home and haven’t even come close to developing a routine allowing me to spend a reasonable amount of time working and yet finding time to cook, clean and relax (a biggy for me!). Believe me it was a heck of a lot easier in many respects when I went out the door to my day job because everyone knew what my schedule was and where to find me and what I would be doing at any given time. Now I’m just flying by the seat of my pants and making it up as I go along. As a Sun/Saturn person one of my challenges is to remember to take time for myself in a consistent manner because if I don’t, I usually pay in one way or another. The Libra mantra of “moderation in all things including moderation” is a key here.

This Lunation will affect those with planets and Angles in the early degrees of the Cardinal signs most strongly. I will repeat the message all of us astrologers are putting out there and that is: Don’t forget Mars is Retrograde and is just going to keep demanding we be patient and do our homework for now. The end of January is “go time” when Mars turns Direct and Pluto has joined Jupiter in Capricorn!

We are also at Winter Solstice so please light a candle or several in remembrance of the turning of the year and the return of the Light.

This amazing picture is from a geocities webpage on the Winter Solstice. Please go check it out if for no other reason than it's beautiful: Happy Winter Solstice and Yule Blessings

I love the Winter Solstice because it means that days are starting to grow from now on. It's hope :)

The Pisces has me totally unhinged. Not that she has done or is doing anything other than being herself. But her being herself has triggered and unleashed all sorts of things in me. And yes, I'm running to, and I'm running fro. Bless her little heart, she hasn't jumped ship yet. Talk about meeting your Shadow!!! (OMG! It just dawns on me as I type this: what color is she???!!! ~more mad laughter~) "

Btw, I have Saturn in Cap (its home turf) and, across the way, Moon in Cancer (her home turf). Two strong placements facing off. More tug-o- war! And each one is problematic for me. Part of the issues The Pisces has (unwittingly) triggered.

Neith, this is so freaky I have to tell you!!!

I just pulled a card to fall asleep on.

From my Medicine Woman deck.

The 6 of Stones (Pentacles).

First, go here to see the card. Does anything strike you? What is the photo on your current entry, the one I have been abundantly commenting on? Do you see it in the card?

Then, I went to my book. It says:

Six of Stones
Restoring Balance

!!!!! (What is your current blog entry about?)

*evil grin*

Gosh I love these synchronicities!! (My days are always full of them. But this one is particularly noteworthy!!)

:-D

So glad I came over here! Thank you for the reminder about Cancer/Capricorn (my 10th/4th houses) and above all Mars retrograde (in my 10th).

I went for a job interview yesterday and was rejected. It stung! I'd quite forgotten about the retrograde. I'm lucky. I have a little temporary job that will keep me going to the middle of next month, and I have faith that once Mars sorts himself out I can look for something else ...

I will be lighting lots of candles today. I love the Solstice.

Great analysis, Neith. Very well said. It really is a time to hang in there and at the same time manage various potent energies. Taking enough time for ourselves, allowing space to recharge -- that's all crucial right now. Happy Holidays to you!

That's the way I see it too. There is a reason Feb 2 (Embolc)is another milestone in the return of the Light because it's when we can really notice the days are longer!

Hi Jane!! **waves exuberently** yes, my Libra friend, we are in constant search of balance!! Best of luck in coming to terms with your Shadow (and yes, the Pisces fits doesn't she?!!!)

It's tough to have that happen all right and it's good you have a temp position to see you thru the Holidays. Remember Mars is going to be moving back into Gemini before he goes Direct at the end of January! And will be spending much of January close to your Midheaven - lots of action is possible.

Thank you so much Lara!! Always love feedback from other astrologers! Working downtime into one's daily life is especially important for those of us who tend to be a tad on the obsessive side. It's always better to voluntarily do that as opposed to being flattened by some passing bug!

Really? 2nd of Feb? I didn't know that.
I have a good friend whose birthday is on that day; even though we're very far away, she lights up my life when she turns up :)
