Yesterday I spent the morning doing follow up training at my former day job. There were two young women, a year apart in age, I spent time with. One has been my friend for over 3 years (Libra Sun/Aries Moon) and the other (Virgo Sun/Aquarius Moon) is my replacement. The effect these two very different women have is startling. One energizes me and the other leaves me feeling drained. There is little to note about this on the surface as both are pleasant, friendly sorts. So, of course, I looked at our charts! My Libra friend’s Sun is conjoined to my Moon and our Moons are closely opposed. Plus we have our Venuses exactly conjoined at 2 Sagittarius – the icing on the cake for two Libras! Her Saturn is within 3 degrees of my Vertex and forms an out-of-sign trine with my Sun/Jupiter. My Saturn is sextile her Sun and trine her Moon. Her Saturn, while square by Sign to my Moon, is too wide an orb to have any clear impact. And, we have Mars in opposite Signs – that seems to be a plus for us as we work well together.
Now my replacement’s Saturn is exactly square my Moon/Neptune . . . which picks up on all her insecurities and anxieties. I’ve noticed in past relationships when someone has Saturn in Cancer squaring my Moon; it has been a very difficult aspect because of the sensitivity of the darn Moon/Neptune! This is especially true in face to face situations. In this instance, where we will spend little time face to face, I do my best to let it slide. In past relationships, I had to end them because I found myself sliding into depression – a foreign state of affairs for a Sun/Jupiter person.
The other aspect that I’ve mentioned before is her Nodes are exactly opposite mine . . . and exactly conjoined to her Pisces boss (my former boss). Throws the Libra need to bring balance into a situation ALL out of whack being in the same room with the two of them dwelling on the minutest details! I want to yell, “Big Picture, people, Big Picture!”
The end result is exhaustion on my part, partly because I recognize the futility of attempting to point these things out. It’s not so bad when I’m answering questions over the phone since their feelings and energy is not in my face but in person?! Not good. I came home and slept for 8 full hours last night as a result. Now my normal Sun/Jupiter good nature is resurfacing, just like one of those squishy toys that expands after being smushed into a tiny space.
Here’s to Mercury Rx deciding to be a kinder, gentler version for a change . . . maybe having Mars trine Mercury will help us all out! :-D
We have Virginia Creeper growing on the side of our woodshed. It turns an amazing shade of red, doesn't it?!

Virginia Creeper is one of my favorites. Thanks for the pic, Neith! It's a treat. xoxoxo
Hey Jane! How are you doing?! I'm having fun taking these photos . . . there are so many moments like this one that I've wanted to record for many years. Libra collect moments of beauty in their minds i believe.
Well, this Libra ~has~ been enjoying your beauty offerings. :-)

Sigh. Not for me. At least not today. I had the most horrible night that I've had in ages and can only attribute it to Mercury Rx. Occasionally I do wake up in the wee hours with my mind churning -- the feeling you described in a recent post. Normally I just let the thoughts spin and eventually go back to sleep. But this morning it was the strangest thing. Rather than churning, they were all just sitting there, as though I had eaten a 12-course holiday meal with three desserts sitting in my stomach, not digesting but not willing to come back up, either. Having all those thoughts sitting there unable to process was intensely uncomfortable. Indigestion of the brain! Which, I suppose, is kind of a funny image, because Mars is sitting on my sixth house cusp right now (Placidus, which I have tested enough to know is the correct system for my chart. I use Koch for people born at higher latitudes and in my horary charts).
I finally did go back to sleep and had a flying dream, which I also haven't had in a long time. I was flying into a storm over the Pacific Ocean just off the coast of San Francisco. Hmmmm....
Anyway, thanks for this post, Neith. This really and truly is going to be an interesting Mercury retrograde period.
It is sometimes puzzling why some people completely drain us and we can't consciously understand why.
My friend and I have very similar charts, as we were born with only two weeks of difference. What makes it funny is that we have opposite Ascendants so our charts are almost the same but upside down ;) I think this works better than having someone with the same ascendant as me, especially considering we're talking about Aries here - two head butting each other ;)

That business of the thoughts just sitting there like cat looking at you is new to me. If an over busy mind wakes me it's the treadmill effect.
A flying dream?! I miss those, haven't had one in a long, long time. San Francisco . . . hmmmm is right!! :-D

Yes, having flipped ASC/DES axis is a great connection and one of natural partnership. Casey, who comments regularly, & i have that and I'm sure if we lived in the same part of the country we'd have a great time hanging out together! There is a comfort level there that seems to help ease some of the more tense synastry aspects.
Some time back there was a link to a blog post on psychic vampires on top ten astrology sources. I'll have to go back and see if I can find that.
This is kind of how the Mercury Retch is going for a lot of people.
Click the nose!

see Joe's post above . . . and put down whatever you're drinking!! :-D
Yep, I reckon that about says it. (Thanks for the warning, Neith.)

Oh Pat, if that didn't sound so painful I would laugh! The thought of all those thoughts sitting on your stomach, refusing to be processed via sleep and dreams, is funny. I'm sorry, it is. @;-)
Like our cat, who I thought was handling this move remarkably well. Until we found she'd pooped in JBK's office. When we found the poop, she came in to investigate, as if to say, "Did you see it, huh? Did you?" "Yes, Kali, we saw the poop, and no, it's not okay."
That was it. One misplaced poop. She just needed to have her protest and have it register.
Like your thoughts. Refusing to be processed until you'd acknowledged them as the 12-course meal they are.
I wish you much luck and joy. Whatever those thoughts contain, they're obviously doozies. A bountiful harvest.

Running away before the mashed potatoes start flying... @;-b
Thanks for the good thoughts, KJ. I'm much better today. This reminds me of a time when Mars was stationary retrograde, and I could barely lift a foot to go up the stairs. We really are affected by these energies, even if we don't know yet the exact mechanisms. Once Mercury starts gaining some "reverse" momentum, I think the processing will be quite productive, especially as it relates to one recent issue.
As for Kali, how well I know that particular cat message. (Casey, I'll be you do, too!) They just seem to know what one thing will irritate you the most, and they file that away in their devious little minds for those times when they want you to know that you've done something to piss them off.
P.S. Matthew the Astrologer has a post about how Mercury Rx isn't that bad. I left a comment saying we should shoot the little bugger (Mercury, not Matthew).

In general it's been my experience that once Mercury starts moving, the effects are not so pronounced. It's the lead up time and the stationary period that are often the most difficult to navigate.

Yes, Matthew's posts are always worth a read. And as to shooting him, I suspect there are some conservative types who would like too . . . his other blog, "The Further Adventures of Chironboy", takes no prisoners. :-D

Exactly the night I had. Then I had a "save the world" dream which I only have when very stressed. Dreamed somebody came in the window in a gorilla suit and I had to protect my mother. So I got a baseball bat and "swung away." I hate these dreams. I'm always protecting someone weaker by being more vicious than them.
sigh. however, it is actually cool today. gray, but not rainy, felt like lower 70s. cool. Autumn finally got here.
neith, can you (will you?) e-mail your address? I'm working on something for you...

Yes, that is a dream sequence that is familiar to me too. Must be our Scorpio in action. Last night I slept for 6 hrs straight . . . unusual and most welcome. Nights are bouncing off freezing now and we have great Fall colors. Wonderful!! :-D
